Welcome to BARRETHÉQUE in Chingford at Wellness Works—a fresh, modern take on barre fitness that fuses ballet, Pilates and yoga with a discothèque-inspired twist, specifically designed for women. Created by Jessica Beeby, this low impact class features upbeat and atmospheric music, making it fun and motivating while still firming, lengthening and strengthening the muscles, creating a youthful figure and shapely body.
What sets our BARRETHÉQUE class apart? This bespoke workout incorporates Lotte Berk inspired moves which specifically target the female form, working on the pelvic floor muscles, some orthopaedics, hip flexibility, soothing stretches and full body mobility, with grace and flow. Our approach also ensures you get personalised attention from expert instructors who will guide you toward better posture, flexibility, and full-body toning—all while keeping the vibes flowing!
Target arms, legs, glutes, and core with small, precise movements that sculpt without straining your joints.
Dance-inspired alignment work helps you stand taller and move with greater grace.
The combination of Pilates- and yoga-inspired stretches increases your range of motion.
Strengthen and stabilise your midsection, improving balance and reducing injury risk.
Enjoy a joint-friendly workout that still gets your heart pumping thanks to the upbeat, discothèque vibe.
The lively music and group energy keep you inspired, helping you push past plateaus and stay consistent.
Each Barrethéqué session at Wellness Works runs for approximately 45 minutes, blending calm yet fun energy with precise technique:
A choreography of gentle flow stretches to warm the body, mobilise the core and begin to lengthen the muscles, ready for the class, sometimes combining Kundalini yoga to lift your energy.
Move to the barre for ballet-inspired pliés, leg lifts, and small, controlled isometric pulses. Expect an eclectic, discotheque inspired playlist that keeps you smiling and pushing yourself through the burn!
Transition to the floor for Lotte Berk, Pilates- and yoga-influenced movements. Strengthen and stabilise your full body while maintaining a dance-inspired flow.
Wrap up the session with deep stretching and mindful breathing, leaving you relaxed, centred, and ready to take on the rest of your day.
